Temporary daycare center in Silkeborg

This temporary daycare institution in Resenbro is designed as a thoughtful and safe framework for children’s daily life, where play, well-being and functionality go hand in hand. The institution consists of a total of 22 specially adapted modules of the Multi type, which are assembled into a manageable and well-functioning whole with focus on both children and staff.

The modules are arranged into five functional group rooms, each with associated cloakroom as well as toilet and changing facilities. In addition, the building houses a nursery room, meeting room, staff room and production kitchen. With the many square meters, space has been created for approximately 100 children aged 3 to 6 years, distributed in safe surroundings that support play, learning and daily routines.

The interior design is executed with particular focus on children’s well-being and staff workflows. Work has been targeted at maximizing daylight, ensuring a good and healthy indoor climate and creating easy access between the arrival area and the outdoor play areas. The staff facilities are centrally located so that overview is maintained and operations can function efficiently in a busy everyday life.

Externally, the building appears simple and stylish with facade cladding in dark compact laminate in anthracite gray as well as roof with two layers of roofing felt. The choice of materials provides a calm and timeless expression, while the building is robust and well-suited for institutional use.

The building is set up with level access, which makes it easy to move around with prams and strollers and ensures good accessibility for everyone. At the same time, the building has high insulation capacity and low energy consumption in accordance with applicable building regulations. Heating is provided via underfloor heating connected to district heating, which contributes to a comfortable indoor climate year-round.

The result is a temporary daycare center that creates safe, functional and inviting surroundings for children’s daily life – and which functions efficiently for children, staff and operations alike.
